I'm not a big cake eater

but I do love making them, most particularly birthday cakes for the girls. In previous years for Ella we've had 1st Sunflower; 2nd Monkey; 3rd Princess Castle; 4th Clown and then this year, something altogether different again.

The handle was a little wonky and I only noticed that I'd put the spout on upside down when my dad pointed it out, Ella loved it though, was seriously impressed and I was seriously chuffed.

It looks great! I made only one cake in my life and the sponge was as hard as a rock. That's why I still prefer baking cookies. :)

That cake is AWSOME! Well done - oh and the pancake breakfast looks absolutly delicious.

I could not respond t your post on my blog - it was a coffee and almond cake (not a coffee drinker) but I like coffee cake!

Trust a man to notice a small detail, such as the spout. I bet he doesn't notice when he's left his socks on the floor however!LOL. Absolutely gorgeous cake BTW!

Nice cake! Would you believe I actually had to look up the word "chuffed"?

My kids just looked at this picture and said, longingly, in unison "ohhhhhhhhh....I want that cake...."
